Biography:

Since joining the Rio faculty in 2009, I have had the privilege of teaching a wide range of courses in biology.  Primarily, I teach courses for the Wildlife and Fish Conservation and Management major.  However, I also teach Ecology and Contemporary Topics in Biology for Biology majors.  I consider myself exceedingly blessed to be able to work at the University of Rio Grande and live in bucolic southeastern Ohio.

I am a native of Appalachia and grew up near Pikeville, Kentucky.  I am married to Rebecca and we have three wonderful children (a fourth on the way!) -- one son, Marshall, and two daughters, Maylin and Samantha. My family and I live in Jackson, Ohio and spend most of our free time outdoors.  My hobbies include bird-watching, archery, and reading (especially biographies and autobiographies).  Feel free to explore the website to learn more about my teaching, research, and outreach activities.  Please contact me via email if you have any questions about myself or about the University of Rio Grande.
