Biographical Sketch:
Dr. White is a life-long resident of southern Ohio. Originally from West Union, he currently resides in New Plymouth with his wife, Amy, and three children. He remained in southern Ohio for both his undergraduate and graduate educations, receiving a B.S. in Chemistry from Shawnee State University and a Ph.D. in Chemistry (concentration in Analytical Chemistry) from Ohio University. Dr. White has been very active in STEM education initiatives for URG, including leading two Math/Science Partnership programs and two Improving Teacher Quality programs with local public school districts. These programs have successfully increased student achievement in science within the region by providing teachers with science-focused professional development opportunities. He also developed a STEM internship program for URG students with area employers, and helped with the creation of the B.S. Chemistry program at URG. In total, Dr. White has been awarded nearly 2 million dollars in competitive funding for these projects.
